Guest Shifts & Gatherings at oMM Mixology: Where Saigon's Bar Community Connects
Updated: 20 minutes ago
oMM Mixology, a cocktail bar on the first floor of 63 Ho Tung Mau in central Saigon, hosts regular guest shifts that bring leading bartenders from Vietnam and abroad behind its bar. Since 2025, guests from Vietnam, Japan and Thailand have taken over the bar for one night each, alongside community gatherings such as Have A Single Shot and Have A Book. This page brings every guest shift and gathering together in one place, and is updated after each event.
Why connection sits at the heart of oMM
Connection is built into oMM Mixology's name. "Ômm" comes from "Ôm em" – "embrace" in Vietnamese – inspired by Tiên Cookie's song of the same name, about the quiet power of being present for one another.
One of oMM's three brand words, Memor ("to remember"), carries the same idea: a place where moments of connection become memories shared with the people you love. The open bar makes this tangible. Guests sit close, talk directly with the bartenders and watch each drink being made, surrounded by artworks in a contemporary art space.
What is a guest shift?
A guest shift is a night when a bartender from another bar takes over the counter, bringing their own menu, techniques and stories for one evening. For guests, it is a rare chance to taste the work of a celebrated bartender without travelling to their home bar.
For the bar community, guest shifts are how ideas travel. Bartenders exchange techniques, ingredients and cultural perspectives, and each visit leaves something behind for the host team.
A guest shift night at oMM
The menu
Each guest creates a short, dedicated menu for the night, usually three cocktails. Many nights are built around a partner spirit, such as Glenfiddich 12 Sherry Cask with Hữu Phú or Hendrick's Gin with Đạt Nguyễn.
The atmosphere
Guest shifts take place in oMM's art-filled space, with soft light and an open bar where guests can watch the guest bartender at work. Thịnh Lê even drew inspiration from the artworks on oMM's walls to create his menu.

How to join
Upcoming guest shifts are announced on the Events page and on Instagram @ommmixology. Booking ahead is recommended via TableCheck.

Mahaniyom (Bangkok), March 2026. Co-founder Ronnaporn "Neung" Kanivichaporn – Bacardi Legacy Global Champion 2019 and the first Asian winner of its global final – brought Mahaniyom's whole-ingredient approach to Saigon with bartender Suphamit. The bar is recognised by World's 50 Best Bars and Asia's 50 Best Bars, and its menu at oMM featured unexpected ingredients such as insects, bee products and coconut.
Phạm Tiến Tiếp, September 2026. On the 14th night of the lunar month, oMM held a Mid-Autumn "village festival" with three cocktails built on traditional Rượu Làng rice spirit, a tò he (rice-dough figurine) artisan and mooncakes paired with cocktails.
Đạt Nguyễn × Hendrick's Gin, June 2026. The concept asked what happens when a summer garden meets the ocean, matching herbs and tropical fruit with fresh Miyagi oysters.
Phúc Lê, December 2025. The Bar Manager of Hybrid Saigon and Bar57 brought more than ten years behind the bar and his philosophy: "Magic is just a science that we don't understand yet."
Thịnh Lê, August 2025. The Luxardo Champion 2017 turned oMM's artworks into a menu of colour: Green Orange (jasmine and orange peel), Soft Chao (lavender and honey) and It Seems!
Hữu Phú, June 2025. The Bartender of the Year 2020 created three cocktails with Glenfiddich 12 Sherry Cask: Chamomile Sour, Lychee Cocoa Manhattan and Plum & Tomato Highball.
Shuzo Nagumo's returns to oMM
Shuzo Nagumo is the Japanese mixologist who founded Mixology Group and serves as creative advisor to oMM Mixology's signature cocktail menu. Known as the first to bring centrifuges and vacuum distillation into Japanese bars, he returns to Saigon for special guest shift nights.
On 16 October 2025, he presented an exclusive one-night menu at oMM. Read more about his journey and the tea, coffee and cacao cocktails he created for oMM in Shuzo Nagumo: Japan's Grand Mixologist and the Signature Cocktail Menu at oMM Mixology.
Beyond the bar: community gatherings
Beyond guest shifts, oMM hosts gatherings where connection itself is the centrepiece – evenings where people find common ground, open up and share, connecting with each other and with themselves.
Have A Single Shot
Hosted by Thùy Minh on 8 August 2026, Have A Single Shot began with small shots and unplanned encounters. Her idea: a drink can be a ritual with yourself, and when you raise a glass with the right person, it becomes the start of a conversation and, eventually, a story worth keeping. See the event.

Have A Book
Also hosted by Thùy Minh, Have A Book invites guests to spend one quiet hour reading – no phones, no conversation – followed by Books Match games and a free book swap. The next edition takes place on 23 October 2026. Reserve your spot.
Eclectic Elixirs
On 29 August 2025, oMM hosted the final stop of a flavour journey from the Whitsundays in Australia, with 74 Islands Distillery and Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Vietnam. The oMM team created three cocktails from 74 Islands spirits, each paired with a matching canapé. See the recap.
